Course Overview

Introduction

"We are surrounded by data but starved for insights" Jay Baer. Therefore, at the Health Data Acumen (HDA), we are on a mission to transform research in Africa through practical, insightful training on research methodology for better clinical practice and outcomes.

We have developed for you a bespoke and comprehensive course for health professionals that leaves out unnecessary technicalities and invites the investigator to focus on the important things. We start this course by showing you how to find a good research question and how to plan an efficient, effective, and ethical study design.  Our module on estimating sample size continues to demystify the process and enable participants with minimal training in statistics to make these calculations themselves, thoughtfully, and without needing to wrestle with formulas. Our very unique module on data management will help you design your own electronic database using open-source and powerful data management tools.
